The Museo del Patrimonio Municipal (Municipal Museum) opened its doors in March 2007.
The museum provides a good overview of the history and artistic heritage of the city of Malaga from the time of the Reconquista until the present day.
Here you can discover how the city has developed over the centuries.
The exhibition consists of several hundred pieces presenting the history and art of Malaga and includes books, historical documents, sculptures, paintings, graphic art and furniture.

In the various rooms you can find out more about the period between the 15th and the 18th centuries, in which Malaga changed from a Moorish to a Spanish city.
The 19th and 20th centuries are well represented and the museum also contains works by contemporary, local artists.
