This two storey museum is all about the wines of the province of Malaga. The building dates from the 18th century and was thoroughly renovated specifically for the opening of the museum.
The museum tells the rich history of the wines of this region, the winemakers, the different kinds of wines from the region and how these wines are produced.
The wine museum came into being at the request of winegrowers from the Malaga region who wanted to raise awareness of their products.
You can wander around the museum by yourself, but you can also take the 40 minute guided tour.
Whatever you choose, two glasses of wine are included in the price and you can enjoy more in the wine shop at a very reasonable cost. Here, they also sell sell wines by the bottle and other wine-related products such as books and glassware.
Ask in advance at the entrance about the different tours and the languages in which they’re given. Guided tours take place every half hour.
